Throughout life, there are moments that resist certainty.
Moments of quiet transition, where one season has not quite ended and another has yet to fully arrive. It is within these thresholds that Edge of a Season finds its meaning.
This exhibition marks the first gathering of The Wuther Collective: seven artists brought together through a shared year of study at Newlyn School of Art, and united by an ongoing commitment to support one another’s creative practices.
Our name, Wuther, comes from an old Northern word describing the sound of a wild, restless wind. Wind is both invisible and transformative. It shapes landscapes without asking permission, carries seeds to unfamiliar ground, clears what has been and announces what is to come. It is a force of movement, of change, and of connection between places.
Edge of a Season embraces that same spirit. Our work is not bound by a single style or narrative, but by a shared attentiveness to change: in landscape, in memory, in material, and within ourselves.
As a collective, we stand at the edge of our own season. This exhibition is an opportunity to share where our individual paths have led, and to celebrate the creative dialogue that continues to carry us forward.
Like the wind, we are always in motion.
