Anita Pryor

I am based in West Cornwall in Penzance.   I've switched from textiles to working with inks, and eco printing on paper. I love the rich softness and warmth of the walnut, oak gall  & madder inks. I like to make my own if I can, and applying them onto various types of paper using rust, copper or salt solutions as disrupters. 

Odd found objects lie about in my workshop for a while before their use presents itself. An example of this is 'Specimen'. The figures are mostly of people I know; some stretch back 40 years! 

If I've learnt to appreciate anything whilst building a practise over this last year, its that I cannot predict what will show up in the work, and if I don’t show up regularly then what 'shows up' is reduced or likely to be overlooked. I feel very grateful to be in a position where I can now at last show up daily.
